Ramses and Gorillaz - 30/12/08

Spent a perfect Saturday wandering around London with Lyndsay and my mom. We had an ill-fated search for a nice gastro pub near the British Museum that somehow landed us in a pub where the "yellow, lumpy stuff" on our sandwiches was hesitantly defined by our servers as butter. But it could as easily have been identified as napalm for all their confidence.

But after that, we went to the London museum where I sat and drew Mr. Ramses. The highlight was a tiny little asian girl (4 or 5 at the oldest) who came, stood next to me and watched me sketch for about 7 minutes. Where her mother beckoned her to go, she made a very polite point of thanking me and waving good bye. It was adorable.

The other highlight of the weekend was to see "Monkey: Journey to the West" at the O2 on Sunday night. Hewlett and Martin, and chinese martial artists, contortionists, silk aerialists and a little opera makes for a pretty mind boggling evening. I recommend checking it out if you have the chance.

Beers and Nekid Folks... - 09/12/08

Went to another life-drawing class at a pub last night. The guy who put this class together is a genius. Beer, models, see what happens... If anyone is interested in going, he has a rolling schedule on his meetup site here. If you're in London and want to come draw, check it out.

Anyway, here's what happened.

Moleskine - 05/12/08

Sometimes the size of a page can be daunting. I find myself saying things like "If I can't fill up this page, I shouldn't draw anything at all." Yeah, I know. Douche bag.

Anyway, retiring big sketchbook (which is too big for the scanner anyway) and moving to a mini moleskine, observing people on public transit and creeping them out...

Enjoy...
